Department of Pharmacology

The Department of Pharmacology of NGSM Institute of Pharmaceutical Science was established in the year 2001. This department is committed to excellence in research and teaching. The disciplines of pharmacology and toxicology span basic mechanisms of drug discovery, action, metabolism, and distribution, along with studies of the therapeutic or adverse effects that chemicals/drugs have on biological systems It specializes in preclinical research which is integral part in the drug research prior test the drug substances on human’s i.e. clinical trials. The department has a team of dedicated staff strength and well equipped facilities including animal house “NUCARE” of the university. We carry out drug screening using various animal models for preclinical disease models in experimental animals in accordance with CPCSEA and GLP guidelines. The training on handling of laboratory animals for various experimental procedures is provided to the students.

We offer education and training process for all the programs of pharmacy. The department offers various programs which include D.Pharm B.Pharm, Pharm D, M. Pharm in Pharmacology and Ph. D.
